ASTANA. KAZINFORM – Joint Kazakh-French venture “Ghalam” will be the first Kazakhstani vendor of satellite components for the biggest European concern in aerospace industry of Airbus D&S.
This was announced half a year ago during the press-tour of Kazakhstan journalists at the National Space Center in Astana, when the media group visited the finishing premises of the testing field of the production of solar sensors for the future Kazakh satellite STSAT.
Today LLP «Ghalam» if the frame of the project of creating the first Kazakh satellite of the science and technology assignment STSАТ engaged with 4 sun sensors, one of them will be established on board of the satellite, other three will be subjected to the ground testing. The sun sensor serves for angular position measurement of sun and formation of balanced electric signals for the on-board control of space craft, in case when craft has not required higher navigational accuracy.
As Development Director said LLP “Ghalam” Sergei Murushkin in the frame of technology transfer of the sun sensors making BASS-17 and BASS-7 specialists of LLP “Ghalam” had a five week training in Toulouse at the base of Airbus D&S. At the training on the BASS field was produced the first flying sun sensor BASS-17. In Kazakhstan the production of the first flying sun sensor was realized since 12 till 31 May 2016. All the process assembly of the sensor inspected and controlled by the quality inspector of Airbus D&S. The first flying sensor was packed in a sealed container and send on testing in Toulouse. The sun sensor was tested within 6 week. Testing results approved that the assembled sun sensor accorded with all quality standards PFM1.
