The official delegation of the Netherlands headed by the Minister of Economic Relations Henk Kamp got acquainted with the work of the National Space Center in Astana on June 21, 2017.
The delegation consisted of Netherlands Ambassador in Kazakhstan Dirk Jan Kop, Chairman of the National Space Office of Netherlands Ger Nieuwpoort, Chairman of NEVASCO Companies group Han Wensink and Chairman of S(&)T Company Arthur van der Meer.
It should be noted that this is the first visit of Netherlands delegation in Kazakhstan to discuss the prospects for possible cooperation in the space industry.
Chairman of the Aerospace Committee of MDAI RK Shaimagambetov Y. briefed delegation on the development of space activities in Kazakhstan.
The activity of the space communication system «KazSat» and the Erath remote sensing «КazEOSat», High accuracy satellite navigation system has been demonstrated for the delegation. Foreign guests got acquainted with the progress of construction of the Assembly, integration and testing complex of spacecrafts (AITC SC), where it is planned to produce satellites of various purposes with a mass of 100 kg to 6 tons and to manufacture the components for satellites as well.
Representatives of the delegation inspected the Special Design and Technological Bureau with pilot production, the commissioning of which is planned to be already completed this year.
Heads of the Netherlands space organizations suggested a cooperation to Kazakhstan regarding the use of high and medium resolution images from Kazakhstan satellites of the Earth remote sensing jointly with the group of «NEVASKO» companies for space monitoring. By the way, the group of «NEVASKO» companies is planning to implement a number projects in Kazakhstan, in particular, Smart Almaty project provides space monitoring of air quality in Almaty city, satellite assessment of non-purpose use of land, space monitoring for green areas and monitoring of ground subsidence in the city.
«NEVASCO» - this is a group of Dutch companies engaged in the provision of geoinformation services in various commercial sectors.
«NEVASCO» - this is a platform that connects geoinformation providers with interested customers.
«NEVASCO» - this is a trade organization promoting the integration, expansion, promotion and sale of geoinformation services and contributes to the standardization and certification of the Earth observation services.
At the end of the meeting, the Parties agreed to continue an activity on establishing further cooperation.
It should be noted that over the years of Independence Kazakhstan has achieved significant results in such a non-resource sector of the domestic economy as space activities, thereby increasing the interest and attractiveness of other states.
The development of domestic space activity attracts a lot of attention of Kazakhstan’s foreign partners. So, just during June of this year the country’s space enterprises visited the delegations of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Sweden and Pakistan. All of them expressed their desire for mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of space technology development and made detail proposals.
As the Head of State, the Leader of nation Nazarbayev N. emphasized in the Strategy «Kazakhstan-2050»:
«By 2030 our country has to expand its niche in the world market of space services and bring to logical fruition a number of projects, including the Assembly, Integration and Testing Complex in Astana, Remote Sensing Space System, National System of Space Monitoring and Ground based infrastructure, High Accuracy Satellite Navigation System.
