ASTANA. KAZINFORM – JSC «NC «Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary» won the tender to provide services “on inventory control and evaluation of the up-to-date condition of saksaul plantation at the drained bottom of Aral sea”. That’s the name of the one of the projects of UNDP in Kazakhstan, where JSC «NC «Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary», reported press office of the company.
According to the words of the Director of the Earth remote sensing space system center of JSC «NC «Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary» Mr Aidar Kuatbayev, the first stage of the task has been completed.
Cartographic and attributive data were collected on planting saksaul plantations, technical characteristics of required space images were defined, search, selection and order of space images was undertaken. Space images of the bottom of Aral sea were acquired, all the images from ERS satellites KazEOSat-1 и KazEOSat-2 had been processed and decrypted.
«The results of the first stage of space monitoring have been already transferred to the Customer. During this week, our specialists headed by project leader, ERS center engineer Kanat Samarkhanov departed to Kyzylorda region to carry our field researches. As a result, the geo-database of vector layers will be created, based on the decryption and analysis of space images, as well as on the results of field discoveries», - stated А. Kuatbayev.
Realization of the project «inventory control and evaluation of the up-to-date condition of saksaul plantation at the drained bottom of Aral sea» by the order of the UN program will last until the end of the year. Still, several stages of space monitoring are coming, which will show the current situation of saksaul condition in Aral region and will help to take measures to safe disappearing shrub.
