ASTANA.KAZINFORM – Kazakh Earth remote sensing satellite KazEOSat-1 acquired space images of fire in Zhanaozen city area in Mangistay region.
As it was already reported, the fire started 18 September at the territory of storage area of oil residues in Karakiyanskii place with the area of 5000 sq.meters is going to the end.
“Accident occurred at 17h05m on the September 18, at noon 19 September spacecraft was above the territory of Mangistay region and our specialists acquired images of fire area. Images were processed and will be transferred to the Emergency situations committee” – as it was reported by the press-office of JSC “NC” Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary”.
As it’s known, JSC “NC” Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary” is the owner of complete Earth remote sensing space system comprising two optical spacecrafts KazEOSat-1 (high spatial resolution 1 m) and KazEOSat-2 (medium spatial resolution 6.5 m), ground control complex of ERS SC and ground dedicated complex for data acquisition and processing.
KazEOSat-1, high resolution satellite was launched on the 30 of April 2014. Active lifetime period not less than 7 years. Linear resolution in panchromatic mode 1 m, spatial resolution in multispectral mode 4 m. Number of multispectral channels -4, capable of stereo imaging; swath not the than 20 km. Revisit time (Kazakhstan) – 5 days in nadir, and 2-3 days with inclination up to 35 degrees.
KazEOSat-2 medium resolution satellite was launched on the 20 June 2014. Active lifetime period – 7 years. Spatial resolution in multispectral mode 6.5 m. Number of multispectral channels -5, capable of stereo imaging; swath not the than 77 km. Revisit time (Kazakhstan) – 4 days
