The Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Aidarbek Saparov, reviewed the application of space technologies in the agro-industrial complex
The Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Aidarbek Saparov, visited the National Space Center.
During the visit, the Minister was introduced to modern space monitoring solutions aimed at enhancing the efficiency of the country's agro-industrial complex, the operations of national remote sensing satellite systems, digital platforms for monitoring agricultural production, and the prospects for the development of Kazakhstan's space infrastructure.
Specialists from JSC "NC "Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary" provided insights into how data obtained from Kazakhstan's satellites is utilized in the agricultural sector for monitoring the condition of crops, pasturelands, and assessing water consumption. They also presented the results of agricultural land monitoring conducted using remote sensing data.
Following the presentation, the Minister of Agriculture instructed to conduct a comparative assessment of space monitoring data obtained by JSC "NC "Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary" and the information generated by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This directive aims to develop unified approaches to assessing the condition and use of agricultural land, as well as to reconcile discrepancies in calculations related to sown areas, crop yields, and water consumption.
During the meeting, digital platforms designed for the automation and digitalization of agro-industrial processes were presented.
Among them was Agrospace, a platform intended for transmitting geospatial data on agricultural land to substantiate subsidy applications through the Unified State Information System for Subsidies (EGISS). Another platform, JerInSpectr, is aimed at automating and digitalizing business processes for enforcing land use regulations and conducting preventive control without on-site visits, utilizing remote sensing data.
Additionally, the capabilities of the Agrogharysh module were demonstrated. This module ensures the transfer of the agricultural field registry with cadastral information and space monitoring data on crop production to the Agricultural Traceability Information System.
The Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of JSC "NC "Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary," Olzhas Shokparov, commenting on the development of satellite technologies, emphasized their importance for the digitalization of agriculture:
"Today, Kazakhstan is actively developing satellite technologies. Our goal is not only to improve the accuracy of agricultural monitoring data but also to create an efficient land resource management system that will enable farmers to make well-informed decisions in real-time."
In conclusion, the Minister highlighted the necessity of further expanding the application of space monitoring in the agro-industrial sector, strengthening the integration of remote sensing data with state agricultural management systems, and implementing artificial intelligence and big data analytics technologies to enhance the efficiency of the industry.
